Although the majority of my writing is formal, I have dabbled in creative pieces, and had success with my few attempts. Because the nature of the genre is obviously creative, I feel that I take more liberty with this kind of writing, and that my products have a stronger voice and reflect various dimensions of my personality.
My Escape
This is a short prose piece that focuses on the time I spent in Italy, and what the trip meant to me in the broad scope of summer, and, in larger terms, my life. It's a quick piece with strong imagery and voice, and relates my experiences in a clear and succint way.

Give the Perfect Gift
This piece was an experiment with writing for a specific publication, and matching their feel and tone. The goal was to produce a quippy — yet informative — document that would be reminscent of something one would find in The Onion. Also, it includes more facts on hiccups than one would ever need to know.
